Molecular Biology of Archaea
ABOUT ME
Since my diploma thesis in the lab of Prof. Wolfram Zillig in 1996 I am fascinated by Archaea. I worked on conjugative plasmids in Sulfolobus and this work stimulated me to look for a PhD thesis project in this area. Therefore I moved to the lab of Prof. Wil Konings and Prof. Arnold Driessen where I studied transport phenomena in Sulfolobus and established a genetic system for S. solfataricus. I love to combine genetics, molecular microbiology, cell biology and biochemical and biophysical approaches to study the fascinating world of Archaea!
